Light-hearted, simple, but nice
Include grandchildren
Would like to celebrate Dad as a man, father, grandfather, husband, etc... his accomplishments, what he has meant to people
Celebrate Dad as a renaissance man, a phoenix reinventing himself throughout his life
Include a slide show/DVD presentation with toasts/speeches
Keep this in mind as we talk about time of day, food, guest list, etc

Hard to believe but Dad is turning 70 on April 11th. Mom and Dad are in DC on the 15th, so the plan is to celebrate on Saturday, April 17th. I thought this blog might be an easier way to organize thoughts and keep each other posted, instead of lengthy email chains.
